Homemade Granola

Some of you might remember how much I love homemade granola. This passion became into a small granola production to sell to my close friends and this blog couldn’t stay without a good recipe.

The one I am going to share with you is oil and sugar free, could also be gluten free if you use gluten free oats.

You can use anything you have at home, these were the ingredients I had at mine at the time, but I usually like to add 2 or 3 different nuts (cashew, almonds, hazelnut, walnut, etc), 2 or 3 seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, flax, etc), dried fruits and mixed spices.

We will use 3 pears to give sweetness to the mixture.

INGREDIENTS 3 pears (or apples) 2 cups oats 1/3 cup pumpkin seeds 1/2 cup almonds 1/2 cup shredded coconut 1/2 cup millet puff 3 tbsp flax seeds 1 tbsp raisins Cinnamon and salt to taste

INSTRUCTIONS Blend the pear in a food processor or blender until you get a smooth consistency (for those who want more sweetness can add agave, honey, maple).

Preheat oven to 180ºC. Coarsely chop the almonds and other nuts if you have. Add all the ingredients to a bowl (except raisins), mix it and incorporate with the pear sauce, cinnamon and salt. Spread the mixture evenly onto a baking sheet and bake for 15 min, stirring a bit every 5 min. Meanwhile, hydrate the raisins, which should be added in the end (ps: I usually add the coconut and millet puff in the 5 last minutes so it doesn’t burn, but in this recipe I did it in the beginning and it was great as well). Take out from the oven, add the raisins and let it cool. Keep it in an airtight container to maintain it super crunchy 🙂

Enjoy!
